Mayo
It is
interesting to see the variety of cupolas and building styles
along this beautiful main road leading to Plaza de Mayo (Mayo
Square). There you can see the Pirámide de Mayo (Mayo
Pyramid), which commemorates the first Argentine government’s
independence. Other important buildings are the Cabildo (Town
Hall from colonial times), Palacio del Gobierno de la Ciudad
(Municipal Executive Building), the Cathedral, and the Casa
Rosada (Government House), seat of the President of the Argentine
Republic. Nearby, you will find the "Manzana de las Luces",
a group of buildings related to Argentine history and culture.
Lying by the river, the renovated Puerto Madero complex is worth
visiting.
From avenida de Mayo to San
Mrtin squar
Starting from Corrientes Avenue, Buenos Aires’ nightlife
centre, you can see the Obelisk, symbol of the city. Further
beyond, you will find Lavalle Street with its cinemas and
Florida Street with its shops. Some of the most representative
buildings of Buenos Aires are located in front of San Martín
Square. From its highest spot, you can see people, buses and
cars rushing to and from Retiro (Buenos Aires Train Station).
La Boca neighborhood
Its streets and bright colourful houses are unmistakable.
Caminito Street served as inspiration for the tango which
so well immortalized Carlos Gardel.

Recoleta
An elegant and exclusive neighbourhood with green streets,
cafés and restaurants, antique shops, a cultural centre,
and the Cementerio del Norte (known as La Recoleta Cemetery)
considered a history and sculpture museum.
Palermo
It is one of the largest and most beautiful areas in the city,
where you will find the Zoo, the Botanical Garden, the premises
of Sociedad Rural, and the large Parque 3 de Febrero (3 de
Febrero Park).
